Support for the Unemployed

We provide a variety of free part time courses for adult learners who are unemployed, economically inactive and are seeking a return to work or individuals who would like to develop their skills. Even if you are in employment you may be eligible to receive full or part funding for a course to make it free, or to support with making the course more affordable and accessible.

We teach practical skills for individuals or local businesses. We can also provide information,  guidance and access to careers information to help you get the most out of your time with us. We run courses at both our Havant and South Downs campuses, along with a number of locations in the Portsmouth area including Leigh Park Learning Centre.

Employee Skill Support

We provide individuals aged 18+ who are employed or at risk of redundancy to develop skills to enable in-work progression or progression into apprenticeships or education. Through this programme we also provide support to businesses to take on and develop individuals to fill intermediate, technical and higher level skills gaps and shortages. We deliver accredited provision at levels 3 and 4, aligned with priority sectors, as well as professional training, and leadership and management training across all sectors.

Entry Requirements

Although requirements may vary from course to course (see the individual course pages for more information), please note that you must be aged 19 or over as of 31/08/23 to be eligible to study any adult learning courses.
