BBC Radio 4 Any Questions? broadcast live at Alton College

A very packed audience enjoyed the broadcast last Friday.

Shahenda and Jonathan

Members of our local community cross examined some leading politicians on Friday night when Radio 4s ‘Any Questions?’ came to Alton College. What the audience hadn’t quite anticipated was the take over of the programme by one of our students as part of the Children's Commissioner for England's Youth Takeover day which happened to coincide with the day of the radio broadcast.

The 'Art' of Recycling

An exhibition of art using recycled waste opens

Art of Recycling

The “Art of Recycling” exhibition can be seen in the Reception of  Alton College until Friday 1st October. This collection of work from artists of every age group spans an array of styles and materials that all have one thing in common - they are all made from rubbish!

East Hampshire District Council and The Greening Campaign challenged residents to produce “recycled art” that would tour the area. This exhibition has now reached Alton College. This project was first introduced to the students during the College’s Green Week in May.

The LifeForce of our Community

The final LifeForce event welcomed Ken Burton and the London Adventist Chorale

Gospel Choir

Ken Burton had the workshop buzzing within minutes of starting and had everyone singing gospel before the session was done. The evening concert was a happy event combining both traditional and contemporary gospel songs. The Chorales' uplifting songs and perfect harmony made every song a pleasure. They delievered an outstanding event which was received with a standing ovation and raptious applause.
