Southern Jazz Centre in full swing

The Berkoff Performing Arts Centre has hosted several music events over the last few weeks with the most recent bringing the Centre alive with the sound of jazz.

During the day, eight different bands and over 40 different young musicians from across the region performed at the Southern Jazz Centre's inaugural Jazz Festival.

Schools come together in Maths competition

For the first time ever, pupils from year 6 and year 10 came together to take part in the Alton College Team Maths Challenge. 

The 6 teams, made up of secondary and primary school pupils, took part in a fun and challenging Maths competition hosted here at College.

Southern Jazz Centre Jazz Festival 2013

On Saturday June 29th, The Southern Jazz Centre @ Alton College will be holding two fabulous events, the SJC Jazz Festival 2013 and 'Speakeasy', a night of big band music and swing dancing.

Julian Joseph Trio with Alton College Jazz Orchestra

Playing alongside the Alton College Jazz Orchestra, virtuoso pianist, composer and BBC Radio presenter, Julian Joseph, will be recreating Herbie Hancock's seminal jazz-funk album "Headhunters". Alongside Julian will be leading international drummer, Mark Mondesir and in-demand session bass player, Mark Hodgson.
