Photography student gets on the map

Congratulations to Alton College student Eliot Finch who was recently shortlisted for this year's Wildlife Photographer of the Year. His submission has also been chosen as the cover image of the Haslemere & Petersfield Ordnance Survey Map as part of the new 'Snaps on the Map' competition.

Alton College student Eliot Finch, previously at The Petersfield School, was recently shortlisted for this year’s Wildlife Photographer of the Year award. The competition calls on young, amateur and professional photographers worldwide to put nature in the spotlight and raise awareness of its beauty.

Congratulations to the Alton College rugby team who have had a very successful season, finishing second overall in the Hampshire College Sports Association league.

This year, Alton College Rugby team have had a very good season, finishing second overall in the Hampshire College Sport Association league. This league consists of a number of colleges throughout the county including local rivals, QMC, Farnborough Sixth Form College and Peter Symonds College.

Alex Powell and Michael Penn, both previously at Heath End School, and Lauren Hole, previously at Perins School, completed the course in some impressive times considering it was their first Duathlon, and it was all for charity.

Ian’s career covers 15 years working overseas and another 15 years working in the UK and has involved both human and physical geography.

Nathan Gibson, previously at Weydon School, and Freya Davis, previously at Hawley Place School took part in the competition in Blackburn and both the girls and boys teams finished second overall.
