From AC to TV via Oxbridge

Inspiration and support from teachers inspires Oxbridge places and regular TV appearances on BBC’s University Challenge for Alton College students.

After studying Maths, Physics, Biology and Chemistry gaining A* and A grades in 2010, Carys Redman-White went on to study Veterinary Science at Clare College, Cambridge University.

Half term trips to China, Africa, US and Europe

Alton College’s international relations were further strengthened over half term when a group of 17 students and three staff had a whistle stop tour of the People’s Republic of China while others visited Switzerland, Morocco, New York and Paris.

Recently granted ‘Highly Trusted Status’ by UK Border Agency, Alton College will welcome Chinese students to study on campus in 2015.

Seven Biology students are celebrating success in the British Biology Olympiad, a competition aimed at A2 students, despite five of them currently studying at AS level.

Jasmine Sibley and Emma Buzzard received commended certificates while Emily Griffiths, Carissa Chew and Rory Attwell all picked up highly commended.

Open to all current students, the Progression Fair will see over 40 universities and employers exhibit opportunities for all students to consider when they leave Alton.
