River studies in Wales inspires Geographers

Geography student Rob Jones tells us about the recent trip to Rhyd-y-creuau, Snowdonia, to investigate physical and human environments.

This year’s trip saw students wading in rivers to measure velocity, wetting perimeter and river depth to enhance their practical fieldwork skills.

With another year comes another opportunity for Alton College’s A-Level Geography students to enhance their fieldwork skills. This year’s trip to Rhyd-y-creuau, Snowdonia, Wales, allowed students the freedom to carry out their own investigations on physical and human environments.
