Second year student Meagan Harrington, previously at Farnham Heath End School, was recently presented with the 2018 Steve Millar Award for Excellence in Geography. The award is given to the student who achieves the highest grade in their Geography exam at the end of their first.

Young Volunteer of the Year

Congratulations to student Caroline Hodgkiss who won the Young Volunteer of the Year award at last night’s East Hampshire Volunteer Awards Evening. Caroline was nominated for showing great positivity and for overcoming numerous personal obstacles, but she has still shown the strength of character to be a young carer and found the time to promote volunteering to other young people.

Music student Scottie Thompson was recently awarded the Winchester Young Arts Music Prize 2018 for Original Jazz Composition which was presented by The Arts Society Winchester as part of the Hampshire New Music event at the Guildhall in Winchester early in November.

Scottie is a first-year student studying A level Music, Music Technology and BTEC Music Performing (Jazz).

Declining My Place to Study at Alton College

We're sorry you've decided not to study at one of Hampshire's top performing Sixth Form Colleges. This year yet again our students surpassed national averages and celebrated outstanding results with a 99.2% pass rate for A levels and 100% for vocational courses. We also introduced an innovative new timetable which provides up to 50 hours more teaching each year with a 10 am start every day.

The Alton College Foundation ceremony for second year students took place in the Wessex Arts Centre recently.  The Alton College Foundation introduced the awards to celebrate students who had shown outstanding achievement within their subjects during their first year of study.
