Community courses

Alton Campus offers a variety of community courses and after school clubs, as well as being the venue for a range of activities and societies, ranging from martial arts to the fine arts.

“Ultrasonic” Rock School at Alton Campus

If you are a rock musician aged between 11-16 looking for bass, guitar, drums, keyboard or vocal lessons and a band to play with, then Rock School is for you!

Led by a team of young professional tutors, Rock School will offer you instrumental lessons to help develop your skills as a player and as a band member. Each week there will also be a band workshop session where you can put into practice what you have learnt and a listening session where you can find out more about what makes music tick.

If you love playing music, this is a fantastic way to get band experience and can lead to a vocational qualification.

No previous band experience necessary – just bring an instrument.

All tunes will be learned by ear, so there is no need to read music.

Day: Tuesdays
Where: Michael Gray Building, Alton Campus
Times: 4.30 – 6pm
Cost: £10/session with first 3 sessions free for newcomers or free with Reach Out and Have a Go vouchers
