Study for a Foundation Degree whilst you are working
Foundation Degrees are Higher Education qualifications that combine academic study with workplace learning. They are designed jointly by universities, colleges and employers and are available in a range of work-related subjects. Foundation Degrees are at intermediate level in the Framework for Higher Education Qualifications.
Alton College works with the University of Portsmouth to provide specialist Foundation Degree courses in our areas of expertise. Our course teachers are all highly qualified and experienced in delivering these higher level qualifications.
The courses are delivered on site at Alton College on a part-time basis. This allows students to be working whilst they study, and importantly have the opportunity to put their learning in to practice in the workplace.
We currently offer the following courses:
For employers, Foundation Degrees can offer a cost-effective way of up-skilling your workforce, assisting in staff succession planning. They also increase the competitiveness of the business by bringing new ideas and creating new opportunities to improve range, quality and service. Entry requirements for the courses vary, and professional experience and prior learning are taken in to account. Follow the links to see course specific details.
