Season’s Greetings by Alan Ayckbourn

Alton College Theatre Company proudly presents Alan Ayckbourn’s classic comedy Season’s Greetings at the Berkoff Theatre, Alton College, at 7.30pm on Tuesday 13th, Wednesday 14th and Thursday 15th December 2011. For Tickets can be purchased online via the Alton College Online Store

It’s Christmas at Belinda and Neville’s house, a time for everyone to celebrate the festivities... and celebrate they do!  Take one frustrated wife; add a seductive stranger, two eccentric uncles and a crazed mechanical toy, and you have all the ingredients to keep you laughing well into the New Year!

Belinda and Neville are played by student actors Emily Ashcroft and Joel Shelton-Smith.  Their family and friends include Neville’s exhausted sister Phyllis (Sophie O’Hara) and her husband Bernard (Jack Sheeran), a doctor whose annual puppet shows are the stuff of legend and terror to both young and old alike.  Also thrown into the mix are Neville’s friend Eddie (Ian Richardson) who arrives with his pregnant wife Pattie (Gemma Champness) and Uncle Harvey (Andy Plom), a slightly senile retired security guard and a television-addict, along with Belinda’s unmarried sister, Rachel (Zoe Pringle) and writer Clive (Cameron Reid). Some of them are set for a big surprise when all the electronic toys under the Christmas tree go off and they discover two of their fellow guests in a passionate tangle underneath!

The backstage team includes talented local students Henrietta Yew-Dyer, Will Stratford, Becky Hagart, May Clyne, Amy Frizzell, Georgia Tarrant, Kathryn Vinclaire and production manager James Gillespie.

Director, Kevin Davey says, “Following the success of last year’s Christmas production tickets are selling fast.  Book now to come along and watch the hilarity unfold in Ayckbourn’s explosive festive treat. Christmas will never be the same again!
