Course Content:

This course is suitable for speakers of other languages who are complete beginners up to those with intermediate English who want to improve for personal or work reasons. The course will help you to improve your reading, writing, speaking and listening skills and widen your vocabulary and knowledge of British culture. You will take a nationally recognised qualification at the end of the course.

Course topics may cover any or all of the following:

  • Using the National Health Service
  • Education
  • Sport and Leisure
  • Writing letters and emails
  • Discussions
  • Use of past tenses

 

Studying at Alton College:

You will work at your own pace in a small, friendly group with plenty of one-to-one support. You will have access to the internet during the lessons to do research and produce written work.

 

Assessment:

You will take a nationally recognised qualification at your assessed level at the end of the course. The British Citizenship test can only be taken externally.

Entry Requirements 

An interview is required before you can enrol on this course.

 

Course Costs:

£225 tuition fee.

You will be expected to supply writing materials and note book/A4 file.

 

 

Funding:

This is a Skills Funding Agency course and you may be exempt from the tuition fee, however you would be required to pay the examination fee at the time of enrolment. Tuition fees for non EU/EEA students may vary from those quoted.
